Where to find eat to live book

Fuhrman was revealing the deception behind fad diets! And you mention how his quoting of medical studies turns you off And unlike fad diets and so much of the confusing, conflicting information we receive, Dr. Fuhrman referenced a vast amount of credible sources with conclusive results.

The whole point of the book is there is no miracle or way to cheat to lose weight. In fact, Dr. Fuhrman repeatedly reminds us that while short-term, immediate results are often favored by people looking to lose weight, the real importance are the long-term effects on our health and lives. Lastly, Dr. Colin's book, The China Study. If you are looking for a book about healthy eating and how to transform your health this is it.

I won't say that this plant based eating program is easy to follow. It is foreign thinking in the world of the high fat, high protein, high sugar, refined foods of the American diet. To me, it is simple to do at home where you can control what foods you stock in your kitchen--but the minute you leave the house for work or whatever it becomes more difficult. I'm just being very honest here--not negative.

It is a definitely doable eating formula-- but it takes some planning and work to accomplish. That said--this eating style will transform how you feel. That transformation and renewed health then becomes the motivation to continue the program and work at all the changes required. The book is clear, positive and informative.

Dr Fuhrman is an MD with a proven track record at motivating change in his patients. The program is extreme--but the book explains the whys and hows and the reasons behind the theory. To my mind even if you take away only half of what is offered here you will be better off. But be aware this plan requires that you rethink everything you think you know about food and healthy eating.

Sound program - difficult to follow but the improvements you experience happen so quickly and are so dramatic it does seem miraculous. The reason I gave this only 4 stars is that I consider it to be incomplete. If you intend to really follow this program you will have to buy the book as well.

I think it is unfair to audible customers that some of the key charts and tables, the menus and recipes in the book that are necessary to fully implement this program are not provided to audible readers in a PDF.

In 28 days, my blood pressure went from over 85 to over I lost 23 pounds, sleep better and feel amazing. My blood sugar on meds would spike up to I recently had my blood pressure checked again, and with activity, it was over Not bad at all considering. Read it, understand it, use it and enjoy weight loss feeling full with more foor than are before I started this diet and now enjoy amazing health results. When I first started this system of eating, I weighed in at pounds.

Enjoyed listening to it didn't think I would. The information really 'clicked' in my head and am walking away feeling more knowledgeable about nutrition. I don't know, maybe this time I was ready to 'hear' it. I am annoyed that the recipes are not included and maybe Audible should mention that in the description. I'm a foodie and I probably would have bought the book instead of the audio version because of it. I emailed Dr. Fuhrmans' website stating I bought the audio book from this site and if they had a link to the recipes.

You have to become a member and pay a monthly fee for access This audio book is great. I have been following the Eat To Live regimen for two years. I have never before been able to lose weight so effortlessly I cured my high cholesterol in 30 days I love eating the Eat To Live way and would never go back to old habits. For those who have an open mind and a sense of purpose, Eat To Live is miraculous indeed. Also read The China Study by T. Colin Campbell and Dr.

Fuhrman's Nutritional Excellence. As a whole-food, plant-based WFPB eater training to become an RD, I'm always looking for great resources to suggest to the people who come to me looking for dietary advice. Eat to Live was referenced in many of the books I'd read, so I decided to pick it up, and I'm glad I did. If you're looking for one book to highlight to benefits of a "nutritarian" diet, then I'd highly recommend it.

I'd put this book right up there with Dr. It's brilliantly simple, comprehensive, and loaded with excellent resources, all presented in plain English. I very much enjoyed this books format and nutritional advice. I've been doing something similar with my veggie focused meals, and it's nice to see studies that back up this way of thinking about food. Part of the difficulty of listening to this book for anyone is going to be the new concepts, terms, and overall technical nature of the discussion.

Fuhrman has a somewhat pleasant voice, but is not receiving or not listening to good direction on how to pace his reading or make it easy to comprehend without active focus.

One irritation I found impossible to get over was that he says the word "then" when he means "than". Nutrition is a fairly dry topic and I needed fewer examples of studies than he chose to provide in order to justify his position on what it means to have good nutritional dietary intake. I forced myself to listen to the whole thing, though.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you? Get a better narrator. Would you ever listen to anything by Joel Fuhrman again? Most likely not if he is reading it. He miss pronounces words frequently. If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Eat to Live?

Any additional comments? I think this book has great information it's to bad he thought he had to read his own work. Joel Furhman's Eat to Live was my very first audiobook about nutrition and healthy living.

It was an eye opening experience, finding out about all the toxic chemicals we consume day in, day out, through refined foods. While the title of this book focuses on the weight loss aspect, it is definitely worth mentioning that sticking to the plan proposed in this book will not only help you lose weight, it will fill you up with energy and make you much, much healthier. I'm very reluctant to believe in such 'promises' myself, yet listening to this audiobook and sticking to the plan has certainly done both of the above for me.

I don't even get migraines anymore now I have given the book 4 stars only because it is dry at some points, especially at the beginning where it focuses a lot on cancer research and studies.

All in all, I recommend this book to anyone who is ready to make some permanent, positive changes in their life, or is simply interested in the science behind nutrition. What did you like most about Eat to Live?

All the points made were back up by well established fact and studies. Not just one study to prove one point, but multiple studies reviewed to produce recommendations. These are not the single sided arguments found in today brainwashing biased media.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eat to Live? The facts about protein levels in vegetables compared to meet and dairy. Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Joel Fuhrman? I've seen Dr Fuhrman in interviews and I think he is a wonderful man doing real good in the world, but unfortunately the narration of this book is disjointed, stuttered and mistakes are made regularly.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be? An elephant is vegan, how do you think it got so big if you think veggies do not contain protein? Great ideas and i'm looking forward to beginning the diet. I came across this book on YouTube and bought a copy as well as on audible, it has completely changed my lifestyle! I was vegan but unwell, over weight and very unhappy! Good luck in your your new journey!

This is the most impressive book on diet that I have ever listened too. Highly recommended. Yes to more vegetables and fruits and berries all the time.

Yes to lemon juice on salads instead of olive oil. I really hate that this book refers to Americans so much, it's a must read for everyone. I also read "Disease-proof your children" by the same author and it's just as good, but less aggressive. What did you like best about Eat to Live? What did you like least? I have both the book and the audiobook. If I hadn't already read a lot of the book, I honestly would have had trouble following the narration.

I have English as a first language, so that is not a factor here. It is painfully obvious upon listening to the flow of the narration that Dr. Fuhrman never read it aloud a few times first - just to get familiar with speaking the text. I felt I was listening to a 10 year old trying to read a complicated medical journal in front of the class! It is an easy-to-follow, nutritionally sound diet that can help anyone shed pounds quickly -- and keep them off. Losing weight under Dr. Fuhrman's plan is not about willpower: it is about knowledge.

Eat to Live will change the way you want to eat, let you live longer, reduce your need for medications and improve your health dramatically. Menu plans, recipes, frequently asked questions and success stories are included.

Eat to Live. You save. Rating Required Select Rating 1 star worst 2 stars 3 stars average 4 stars 5 stars best. Name Required. Email Required. Recipes are provided in his book but most are not quick and easy.

You can become a member on his website to access more recipes but there is a small fee and his website is gimmicky. This isn't a diet you go on for a few weeks. This book will re-educate you in terms of what is healthy for our bodies. I'd also recommend the McDougall diet easier to follow and many recipes are free on his website.

Now for the horrible news. This diet goes against the grain so much, I feel it sets many people up for failure. It is almost like a fade diet because its so extreme and hard to maintain. The diet itself is perfect. You can feel a real difference to your health. However the world in that we live in makes it so hard to eat like this. For months I had nothing but greens, beans, greens, fruit, nuts and more greens.

Although I changed my taste buds to actually enjoy this food, the second I ate a cookie or a slice of pizza I was like an addict who hadn't had heroine is years.

I would lose controll so much. I'd go on binges and eat horrible. I lost sight of so many things. When making a choice between a turkey sandwich or a cheeseburger, I'd opt for the cheeseburger because in retrospect, both items do not follow his diet and deemed equally unhealthy. I followed or rather tried to follow this "diet" for over a year and I would yo-yo from gaining and loosing 10 pounds. I simply couldn't stick to it.

So why the five stars? It really is the ultimate way to eat. If you are suffering from health issues, it will most likely cure them. If you're a cancer or surviving cancer patient, it will have unbelievable amounts of benefits. I still try and follow it with the ultimate goal of eating like this full time in the future. It will take time though. Life changing for me.

You can tell me a million times to eat my fruit not drink it but if you tell me exactly what happens in my body suddenly I think "Oh! I don't want to do that" and I don't want to drink juice anymore. He also debunks a lot of the fad diets out there. If you're LDS, you might think, "gee a lot of this sounds familiar. Wonderful motivator, wonderful education tool and even though I didn't intend to use this as a weightloss tool, I lost 15 pounds this summer!

Jesse Aaron Barnhart. Listen, I've read a lot of diet books in my day because I'm a lazy fat guy who has a "health blog" as a side project so I have to review some of these diet books.

If you want to lose weight and be really healthy--read this book, it has a chance of changing your life. However, the moment you step into the world of Joel Fuhrman realize you're stepping into a infomercial. I mean, yes, his book is full of valid research and tips that are extremely useful to get you to lose weight full of testimonials on how to live a healthy life style, but as he's trying to save your life you can sort of tell he's look'n to make a buck, too.

The health and diet industry is huge with a lot of money to be made, believe me I blog about it. Joe Fuhrman is one of these guys, but don't get me wrong, I do think his diet is the most intense and most probably successful diet you'll ever see--it's just extremely intense and requires some intestinal fortitude to walk away from the world of food and gluttony as you know it, and live a mostly fruit and vegetable based diet that extremely limits meat and cheese--yes, this will be tough my fellow Americans.

I also want to mention that this book should be listed under "Horror" because every bit of research is about how you're going to die of cancer, heart disease, or some other disease because you eat a modern western diet. Kate Merriman. This is NOT about a diet.

Which is what all the diet books say, I know, I know. I believe this truly is the exception, focusing on nutritional excellence, disease prevention, and backed by serious research. If you ever had a suspicion that there was something really wrong with a calorie portion pack of cookies getting a "thumbs up" from your weight loss group leader, or felt kind of freaked out that a doctor was recommending several months of protein shakes laden with fake sweetener, then this dose of reality will be an enormous relief and sanity saver.

I call Dr.
